Career notes

  • Ottawa’s most utilized player in the historic 4-overtime playoff game against the Montréal Victoire at Place Bell on May 11. She was on the ice for 56:01 seconds for that heartbreaking 3-2 loss in the second game of the playoffs. Only Montréal’s Erin Ambrose had more ice-time with 58:09 minutes in that game.
  • Collected 4 points (1 G, 3 A) in 8 playoff games, a higher scoring ratio than her 5 points (0 G, 7 A) in 30 regular season games. Was tied for second in Charge playoff scoring behind Emily Clark during the playoffs.
  • Scored her only goal of the season with 2:35 minutes remaining in Game 2 of the PWHL Finals to give Ottawa a 1-0 lead, but Minnesota tied the game on the power play with 16 seconds remaining and then the Frost stunned the crowd at TD Place with a win in overtime to tie the series at 1-1.
  • Assisted on a third period goal in Game 4 of the Walter Cup Finals to get Ottawa to overtime, but yet again, the Frost won in extra time to win the cup in front of their fans at Xcel Energy Center.
  • Was traded from Toronto to Ottawa on December 30 and just crossed the hallway to play her first game against the Sceptres on December 31.
  • Her first point in the PWHL came as a secondary assist on Emma Maltais’ short- handed goal (the first in the PWHL) against New York on January 5, 2024, securing the team’s first win.
  • Toronto’s first PWHL game against Montréeal saw Larocque score her first goal. It tied the game at one a piece before the team went on to win in the first shootout in PWHL history, 4-3 on January 20, 2024.
  • Prior to the forming of the PWHL, Larocque was a member of the PWHPA. Minus the Olympic centralization season of 2021-22, Larocque played from 2019-23. In the 2022-23 season with Team Adidas, she contributed two assists in 19 games.
  • As a member of three Team Canada Canadian teams at four separate Olympic Winter Games, Jocelyne has won two gold medals (2022, 2014) and two silver medal (2018, 2026). In 12 World Championship appearances, she has amassed four gold medals (2024, 2022, 2021, 2012), seven silver (2025, 2023, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2011) and one bronze (2019).
  • Fifth player in Team Canada history – and the first defender – to appear in 200 international games, the 200th coming during the gold medal game of the 2025 IIFH Women’s World Hockey Championships. She joined Hayley Wickenheiser, Jayna Hefford, Caroline Ouellette and Marie-Philip Poulin, who had reached the milestone in Canada’s quarterfinal win in the same tournament.
  • Coming back to the CWHL after her first Olympics, Jocelyne was traded to the Brampton Thunder. The steady star for the team, and premier stay-at-home defender in the league, she was named captain in her second year in 2015-16. While she was centralized for the third time and named to her second Olympic team, the Thunder moved east in the Greater Toronto Area from Brampton to Markham. Larocque was the first of the team’s three Olympians to decide to re-join the team late in the regular season, giving the Thunder a boost on the way to capturing the franchise’s first Clarkson Cup.
  • After graduating, she re-joined the WWHL, this time with the Manitoba Maple Leafs, where she contributed 49 points in 32 games. When the WWHL was folded into the CWHL, Larocque became and Alberta Honeybadger for the 2012-13 season.
  • Jocelyne’s four years in the NCAA were played for the University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Bulldogs. She finished her career as a Bulldog as the team’s all-time scoring defender with 105 points in 127 games, and leading defender in assists with 56.
  • In her senior year, Jocelyne became the first defender in program history to be named WCHA Defensive Player of the Year, was WCHA Athlete of the Year and was selected to the All-WCHA First Team.
  • Centralized during most of the 2009-10 season, Larocque was not named to Canada’s Olympic team and returned to play 19 games with the Bulldogs. This decision allowed her to help the team to WCHA and NCAA championships.
  • During the 2008-09 season, Jocelyne was named to the All-WCHA First Team and was honoured with an All-American First Team selection. She set a single season record among defenders record with 33 assists that season.
  • In her rookie season, Larocque helped the Bulldogs capture the 2007-08 NCAA Championship, WCHA Tournament and season championships, and she was honoured by being named towith the All-WCHA Rookie Team and was named to the All-WCHA Tournament Team.
  • Prior to the formation of the CWHL, Larocque played three seasons before her collegiate career for the Calgary Oval X-treme of the WWHL, winning championships in three consecutive seasons: 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07.
  • Jocelyne has three dogs: Backster, a terrier mix; Jetson, a Pomeranian; and Monkey, a poodle.
  • Owns Stoke Strength and Conditioning.
  • In 2018, Larocque, who is Métis, was a recipient of the Tom Longboat Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to sport by Indigenous athletes in Canada.
