Boston Fleet fans will get to watch first-round pick Grace Dwyer join a blue line featuring reigning PWHL Defender of the Year Megan Keller and Rookie of the Year Haley Winn. The Fleet signed Dwyer to a three-year contract through 2028-29, bringing Boston to 19 players under contract for the upcoming season.
What it means
Dwyer was one of five players and three defenders selected by Boston in the 2026 PWHL Draft. She is the second member of that draft class to sign ahead of the upcoming campaign.
She joins fellow defenders Amanda Boulier, Rylind MacKinnon and second-round pick Leah Stecker, along with Keller and Winn. Dwyer, Stecker and Winn are the Fleet’s only three players signed through 2028-29.
“We couldn’t be more excited to sign Grace to a three-year contract with the Fleet,”
Danielle Marmer, Boston Fleet General Manager
From Cornell to Boston
Boston selected Dwyer 10th overall on June 17 following her four-year career at Cornell University. The 22-year-old Wynnewood, PA, native recorded 18 goals and 58 assists for 76 points in 134 games for the Big Red.
As a senior captain, Dwyer produced 20 points in 33 games, with six goals and 14 assists. She earned First Team All-Ivy and ECAC Hockey Third Team honors while helping Cornell rank 12th in the NCAA in scoring defense. Internationally, she won silver with Team USA at the 2022 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship.
“I am super excited to play in Boston,” said Dwyer. “It has a rich sports tradition and the Fleet team and coaches are top notch. I can’t wait to play in front of the passionate fans. Let’s go Fleet!”
