Vancouver fans will get to watch first overall pick Caroline “KK” Harvey launch her PWHL career in Goldeneyes colours after the Olympic gold medalist and Tournament MVP signed a three-year contract. The deal keeps the defender under contract through the 2028-29 season.

Harvey is the second of Vancouver’s five selections from the 2026 PWHL Draft to sign, bringing the Goldeneyes to 19 players under contract for 2026-27.

A decorated defender arrives

The 23-year-old from Salem, NH, arrives after a senior season at the University of Wisconsin that included 64 points in 33 games, a national championship and the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. She also earned WCHA Player of the Year and Defender of the Year honours and was a First Team All-American.

Across four years with the Badgers, Harvey recorded 201 points in 147 games and helped Wisconsin win three national titles.

Her international résumé includes Olympic silver with the United States in Beijing in 2022 and gold in Milan in 2026. This past February, she earned Best Defender, Tournament All-Star and MVP honours, leading the Olympic tournament with seven assists and tying Megan Keller for the points lead with nine. She also has five World Championship medals, including two golds, and was named that tournament’s Best Defender in 2023 and 2025.

In their words

KK is an incredibly accomplished defender whose achievements speak for themselves, and we are excited for her to bring her trademark speed and dynamic playing style to our roster,

Alison Izzi, Vancouver Goldeneyes General Manager

“When I first visited the city after I was drafted, I could feel the excitement for the team and how much they love hockey. I can’t wait to get to work with my teammates, and to play in front of the Goldeneyes fans!” said Harvey.

What it means for Vancouver

Harvey joins a defence group that includes Ashton Bell, Sophie Jaques and Dominika Lásková. Fellow 2026 draft pick Katie DeSa has also signed, joining goaltenders Kristen Campbell and Emerance Maschmeyer.

The Goldeneyes return to Pacific Coliseum for their second season on Saturday, Dec. 5, hosting the Seattle Torrent at 1 p.m. local time. Home-opener tickets, Season Ticket Memberships and Half Packs are available, with flex packs set to become available alongside the full schedule release on Friday, Oct. 2.
