For the first time, PWHL Detroit will be more than a list of signings. Expansion general manager Manon Rhéaume will open the club's first training camp with 28 players at Belfor Training Center on Nov. 18: 18 signed players, four unsigned 2026 draft picks and six invites.
What to watch
Detroit's expansion build is heavy on stars. Hilary Knight, Daryl Watts, Hannah Bilka, Jesse Compher and Cayla Barnes give the club an instant identity. The question is depth, and draft picks such as Sena Catterall, Kyla Josifovic, MK O'Brien and Georgia Schiff will compete with the invites for the final spots.
Both scrimmages are at Hamilton's Morgan Firestone Arena: Ottawa on Monday, Nov. 23 and fellow expansion club Hamilton on Tuesday, Nov. 24, both at 1:30 p.m. ET. Detroit's first regular-season game is at PWHL Las Vegas on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. ET, with the home opener against New York on Saturday, Dec. 12 at noon ET at Little Caesars Arena.
In their words
“For the first time, our staff will have a chance to watch all of the talent we've assembled together on the ice. Whether it's a newly drafted player, a training camp invitee, or a player that we've already signed to a contract, we are eager to see what each individual can contribute to our team.”
Manon Rhéaume, PWHL Detroit General Manager
