PWHL Hamilton will bring 31 players to Morgan Firestone Arena for the expansion club's first training camp. Only 16 are signed, so general manager Meghan Duggan expects “a highly competitive environment” as she builds the club's first roster.
What to watch
Fifteen players in camp played in the PWHL in 2025-26, so the group includes plenty of league experience along with players trying to make their first pro roster. Hamilton also hosts three visiting clubs at its scrimmage site, facing Toronto on Monday, Nov. 23 at 5:30 p.m. ET and fellow expansion club Detroit on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m. ET.
The first regular-season game is a tough one, at Montréal's Place Bell on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. ET. Hamilton then visits Toronto on Tuesday, Dec. 8 before the home opener against Ottawa on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. ET at TD Coliseum.
In their words
“This is an important first step in establishing who we want to be as a team, and we expect a highly competitive environment. Every player has the opportunity to earn a role and demonstrate how they can contribute to our group. We’ll be looking closely at compete level, habits and consistency, while beginning to establish our standards, culture and identity on the ice.”
Meghan Duggan, PWHL Hamilton General Manager
