Las Vegas fans will have a four-time national champion in the lineup for the team's inaugural season. Fifth overall draft pick Lacey Eden has signed a two-year PWHL Standard Player Agreement through 2027-28, bringing the expansion roster to 15 players under contract.
What Eden brings
The 24-year-old forward from Annapolis, MD, became the only player to win four National Championships at the University of Wisconsin. She finished her Badgers career with 105 goals and 140 assists for 245 points in 178 games.
Eden led the nation in scoring during her graduate season, recording 77 points on 29 goals and 48 assists in 41 games. She has also represented the United States in five straight IIHF Women’s World Championships, winning two gold and three silver medals.
In their words
We are incredibly excited to officially welcome Lacey to Las Vegas. She's a player we felt strongly about from the beginning, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to draft her,
Dominique DiDia, PWHL Las Vegas General Manager
"I'm beyond grateful for the opportunity that lies ahead in Vegas," said Eden. "I can't wait to be a part of the local hockey community, and I am excited to help build a winning culture in this new organization."
Building toward opening night
Eden was one of eight players and six forwards selected by Las Vegas in the June 17 draft. She joins fellow forward and first-round pick Tessa Janecke, selected third overall, who signed a two-year contract in July.
Las Vegas will make its debut at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday, Dec. 6, against PWHL Detroit at 5 p.m. PT. Home-opener tickets are available online, along with Season Ticket Memberships and Flex Packs. Flex Packs went on sale with the full schedule release on Friday, Oct. 2.
