The New York Sirens are keeping a two-time Walter Cup winner and their leading blue-line scorer from 2025-26 under contract for an additional year. Forward Denisa Křížová is now signed through 2027-28, while defender Maja Nylén Persson’s deal runs through 2028-29.
Experience up front, production on defense
Křížová joined New York at the trade deadline in March and recorded one goal and one assist in seven games with the Sirens. The team previously re-signed her to a one-year contract during the PWHL’s Expansion Player Distribution Process in June.
The 31-year-old won back-to-back Walter Cup titles with the Minnesota Frost. She is also a two-time Olympian and two-time World Championship bronze medalist representing Czechia.
Nylén Persson appeared in all 30 games in 2025-26 after returning from an upper-body injury sustained midway through her rookie campaign. She led the Sirens blue line with 11 points.
Selected by New York in the second round of the 2024 PWHL Draft, Nylén Persson originally signed a three-year contract and added a one-year extension last September. The 25-year-old is a three-time Olympian and has represented Sweden in five IIHF Women’s World Championships.
What it means for the roster
The announcement places Nylén Persson among the Sirens’ longest-signed players. As the team’s release states:
The Sirens training camp roster features 19 players currently under contract, with Nylén Persson one of six signed defenders and one of only two players signed through 2028-29 alongside forward Makenna Webster.
New York Sirens
Křížová is one of 10 signed forwards on the training camp roster and one of 11 players signed beyond the 2026-27 season.
