The Toronto Sceptres head into one of the more open camps among the league's original clubs. Only 15 of the 29 players heading to Ford Performance Centre are signed for 2026-27, so general manager Gina Kingsbury's staff has real decisions to make as returning veterans meet the incoming draft class and invites.
What to watch
Sixteen camp invitees were Sceptres in 2025-26, so continuity is still there. But with 14 unsigned players in the room, camp works as an audition. Toronto also gets an early look at the new Ontario rivalry, with scrimmages against expansion PWHL Hamilton at Morgan Firestone Arena (Monday, Nov. 23, 5:30 p.m. ET) and Ottawa at Mattamy Athletic Centre (Tuesday, Nov. 24, 7 p.m. ET).
The season opens in Ottawa on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. ET. The Sceptres then host Hamilton in the home opener on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. ET at Coca-Cola Coliseum.
In their words
“Training camp will provide our staff with the opportunity to set the standard for our upcoming season and make informed decisions as we welcome back returning veterans and get our first look at incoming talent from our invites and draft class.”
Gina Kingsbury, Sceptres General Manager
